Piazza di Pasquino

Off the southern end of Piazza Navona is Piazza di Pasquino ! [map]. The mutilated marble torso leaning against the wall is thought to date from the 3rd century BC. It was found in Piazza Navona and brought here in the 15th century when it became one of Rome’s “talking statues”.

The statue leans against a wall of the Palazzo Braschi, one of the last papal palaces built in Rome, in the 18th century. The palazzo is home to the Museo di Roma.
